Thomas Longbotham will be resigning as Administrative Assistant for De-Go-La Resource Conservation and Development. His last day of employment will be Friday, December 30, 2011.

Thank you for all the support and cooperation you have provided during his tenure.

The Council will not be searching for a replacement employee in the near future. De-Go-La RC&D can still be contacted by mail at: PO Box 2533, Victoria, TX 77902. President Gary Burns can be contacted at GBurns@vctx.org and 361-220-2284. Board Treasurer Neil Fritsch can be contacted at neil.fritsch@calhouncotx.org and 361-920-5346.

Federal Appropriations for 2011, as passed by Congress, did not allow for funding to provide office space or the position of coordinator to serve the De-Go-La RC&D Council. This is certainly not a reflection on the value of the RC&D program. Since the formation of the De-Go-La RC&D Area, there have been many great accomplishments. The strength of the RC&D program has always been the dedicated volunteers who serve on the board of directors. De-Go-La will continue to function and become stronger with time.

Consequently, Jerry Pearce will no longer be providing assistance to the Council on RC&D. He is temporarily assigned to provide Conservation Technical Assistance to the Victoria Resource Team until a final decision is made regarding his future duties with the NRCS. If you require local assistance on natural resource related problems, you may contact your local NRCS field office.

The current phone number is 361-570-2600, e-mail at admin@degolarcd.org. Along with a change in phone number, the council will be obtaining office space at a new location. You will be notified when the address change takes place.
